The dining room’s character is largely defined by the client’s needs. The room may be used for daily meals, special occasions, or frequent entertaining.
We have even had client’s use it as a catch-all for things purchased during shopping sprees, only to be put away later by house staff. In smaller homes, the dining room table can also serve as a home office from time to time.
These various uses and the architecture, shape, and size all dictate how a dining room is designed. Adequate seating for the maximum amount of guests at any time is important. A table doesn’t need to be just one size so buying one with an additional leaf or two is helpful.
